INTERNATIONAL AND LONG-DISTANCE HIGH-LEVEL SERVICE

Due to our wide range of skills and resources we are able to provide service and consulting expertise at any location which permits the transportation of a basic  set of tools and supplies.  Performance pianos may be serviced on site at a cost far less than their replacement. We are able to perform restringing and action restoration, touchweight troubleshooting and consultation.  The most valuable service which we offer is the Stanwood Precision TouchDesign action service.  Because there are a limited number of Stanwood Installers throughout the world we are able to satisfy a great need.  As a licensed Stanwood installer Shull Piano is able to provide the complete range of Stanwood Precision TouchDesign services, enabling the highest level of performance for your piano.  An initial remote evaluation through photographs and data gathering would permit the ordering of any necessary parts ahead of time; in unusual cases we will have to conduct that preliminary activity ourselves by traveling to the site.  Access to email will be required.

We have a basic set of skills which would permit a performance piano to be thoroughly rebuilt on site, where this is needed.  Extensive soundboard and pinblock work is not offered internationally, but all other service procedures can be performed, including partial bridge recapping and renotching. This permits us to restore an instruments tone and action to the highest level.

Here is an example of how we would address the problems and the work on a performance piano:

Strings are breaking and have less power and tonal evenness, and the action is not responsive as it used to be::

We would restring the piano in order to provide a tonal foundation for power and brilliance.  where necessary to restore treble downbearing we would recap the bridge.

We would rebuild the action with the appropriate new parts, regulate for optimum tone, and analyze the action for the Stanwood PrecisionTouchDesign work.

We would gather  extensive Stanwood data, discuss the touch and power preferences with the client, and email the gathered data to David Stanwood.  In a reasonable time, often less than 24 hours, we would receive back a blueprint for the new Stanwood PTD action.  Within less than two weeks the piano would perform better than new.

Cost must include transportation, food and lodging, and we welcome creative arrangements to keep your costs cown.

Contact us if you have more questions, or to engage our services beyond the Inland Empire of Southern California.
